Dale Earnhardt 1;64 diecast Car #1 of 12 - "Champion"
"We’re in Charlotte…we’re okay but not great…we knew we could lose…but we kept workin’. When Darrell blew up…we just knew we could do it. Doug Richert got on the radio and said “Dale, Darrell blew up, Dale” and Dale says “don’t tell me that if it’s not for real”…and there was silence…we couldn’t talk…we just knew…we’re goin’ to win. We raced it down to the last line until we actually won…and when we got our Championship buckles…everyone was wrong. They had the #11 Bud car on it and our name…"

Dale Earnhardt 1;64 diecast Car #2 of 12 - "Wrangler"
"That car is just part of the history…if you’re doing a Dale Earnhardt story…it would just have to be there…it started there…. that car has to be in it."

Dale Earnhardt 1;64 diecast Car #3 of 12 - "Windshield Wiper"
"Seems like it’s always raining there…it’s the old track and it’s muddy…Dale is screamin’…”I can’s see anything”. Richard (Childress) tells him to stay out we don’t want to lose position. Dale says “Hang on, I’ll be off radio a few minutes.” And then you see the fans in the stands and he comes around the turn with his butt out the window and cleaning off the windshield…that was one of the coolest things…we did so many cool things…it’s hard to pull out just a few…it just shows…whatever it takes…we’re comin’ out to win."

Dale Earnhardt 1;64 diecast Car #4 of 12 - "Pass in the Grass"
"This was absolutely somethin’…if you watch the tape you see they were runnin’ one, two…. but it wasn’t like that most of the race…we were out of it ‘til it came to the end… it pays a lot to win, it don’t pay that much for second.
It shows what a thing we had…he made up his mind he was going to win…he does whatever it takes…it shows what a deal this team was…It was really not a pass in the grass it was a spin in the grass…. Bill had touched him and put him out but never checked…Dale was not quite “The Intimidator” yet…but he went in the grass and won…one of the reason’s we’re filling up the grandstands today…a moment in history. That day he showed them who was best."

Dale Earnhardt 1;64 diecast Car Car #5 of 12 - "Black & Silver"
"When GM Goodwrench came on…that was big. We loved Wrangler and they loved us…they fit with our crowd. They were an associate sponsor but when we did the Black and Silver car…and now we have car people sponsoring car people…it just clicked…we are legitimate now…I mean GM is global and we’re a bunch of “Southern Boys” from North Carolina…now it’s real. This race team is the best education we ever had…Dale and Richard…they was always teachin’ us something and you didn’t even know it…."

Dale Earnhardt 1;64 scale diecast Car #6 of 12 - "Engine Change"
"We went to Dover and blew up an engine…broke a camshaft and we didn’t even know…we didn’t hear it, but he knew…he told us…he felt it. Later they told the story that his daddy (Ralph Earnhardt) told him to wear thin soled shoes to feel the engine…but he could, he could feel the car…Those were the days you went with everything in the trailer…when you could change engines…and we took it and built it from scratch…we were all dirty and full of oil and dirt but we built it and ran it again. We were going to have that car on the track whatever it took…we weren’t just dedicated…we never quit…it wound up blowin’ again ‘cos he ran it too hard…but that race probably helped up win the championship…we just never gave up…"

Dale Earnhardt 1;64 scale diecast Car #7 of 12 - "Four Tire Stop"
"Charlotte…we had a decent day but not real good. We were in the lead lap and then with around 10 laps to go the caution flag comes out and Richard (Childress) comes on the radio and says, “stay out there and we’ll get a good Top 10 finish”. Dale said, “I didn’t come here for a Top 10…I came to win…get four tires ready I’m comin’ in…We were the only car that pitted…we didn’t look like we had a chance but we never gave up. We came in third there…. it was a real team effort – 100%…nobody meant any more or any less…he wanted it more…we came to win."

Dale Earnhardt 1;64 scale diecast Car #8 of 12 - "Number Seven"
"We won ‘em two years in a row and then we’d have a little off year. We won 7… it could have been 14 just as easy… we were so close a lot of times… but to win that and go down and be a part of it… it’s a big deal… we were so fortunate to do what wedid… there were other people workin’ just as hard out there… but they never made it to Victory Circle… but we had Dale… we just loved what we did… and then go to New York and get recognized… that was just cool…. but we worked hard we deserved to be there. He could’ve won a lot more, that’s just how good he was. The last one was just as special as the first."

Dale Earnhardt 1;64 scale diecast Car #9 of 12 - "Quick Silver"
"This car was one of the best kept secrets, back when you could keep a secret, the guys on the crew didn’t know what it was going to look like, when we got it ready to race it was in primer, the guys didn’t see it ‘til we unloaded it that mornin’ at the track. That was the first “special”, that car made die-cast what it is today, then we kept it going, we set a trend. It was one of the coolest things to see that car on the track. This was one of the last secrets in racing!."" - Chocolate Myers"
|
Dale Earnhardt 1;64 scale diecast Car #10 of 12 - "Bricks"
"We were one of the teams to test that track when they fixed it up. To just to go up there and push that car out on the track. Just to walk into the Brickyard and to know all the history there, it’s a special feeling, but then to win, and to actually be in the Winner’s Circle with all that history there, that was one of the highlights of the racing career, that was really special, so we didn’t win Daytona (yet), but we won at Indy."" - Chocolate Myers"

Dale Earnhardt 1;64 scale diecast Car #11 of 12 - "Starting in Front"
"There was something…it was different for us. We were not road racers…but we had success there…it’s one of those places where anything can happen…Dale was on the pole but kept talkin’ about what he did wrong….Dale is not expected to race…Dave Green is on standby. Dale was all broken up from the big crash (broken shoulder). He, I think was tough…we were rough and tough…and he was mischievous…we had the greatest team ever. He goes up there on the pole…he even surprised himself…it just showed how tough he was…he just came to win."

Dale Earnhardt 1;64 scale diecast car #12 of 12 - "The 500"

"For Dale Earnhardt, the Daytona 500 was more than a race, it was a mission, his mission, to be victorious in NASCAR’s greatest race. It was Dale’s passion. For the man that had accomplished all that there was to accomplish in NASCAR, his career would have been incomplete without this victory. It was his ambition, drive and determination to never give up that lead to his greatest victory. The crowning jewel of this career, victory at the Daytona 500. For this win we really had nothing to prove. It was just another race, we had geared up and done everything that needed to be done. We felt like we had won at Daytona lots of times we just came first this once, and it was special. It was the coolest thing we ever done, starting out the racing season with a win at Daytona you’ve got a good year no matter what and that win tied with NASCAR’s anniversary, that made it really more special. A little girl gave Dale a lucky penny before that race, he personally came back to the trailer, he said he needed epoxy to glue it to the front of the car and when he won, he brought her with him to the winner’s circle, it was a big deal" - Chocolate Myers
